Phenomenal Healing From Depression
Understanding Depression & How to Get Out of It!
I just got back from an incredible conference over the weekend with my mentor, Kirk Duncan. He’s phenomenal. And one of the things that came up multiple times with the people I met is depression. I didn’t realize how prevalent it is.
What’s interesting, as I’ve been reading and learning more about depression and studying, it’s always preceded by anxiety.
The events that may be going on in your life create an unknown overwhelming feeling of anxiety. You just don’t know what to do or how to handle it, and therefore because you don’t know, it leads to depression and shut down. You say to yourself and the world, “I’m done.”
The thought of getting out of bed is almost more than you can handle. Pursuing any of your passions or dreams is non-existent because you’ve shut down.
When anxiety comes up or situations that feel overwhelming, you have to keep going and don’t give up; however, most people, so you’re not alone, struggle with anxiety. You may have had an event that’s happened in your past or something that’s happened just recently like a divorce, abuse, a child struggling. There are all kinds of things that can create anxiety.
To combat the anxiety, you must gather information, and so you start looking for that information by going to friends, family, as well as other people. And then as you gain that information, that calms your anxiety.
However, if you’re like most people you’ll get all of this information, and it may overwhelm you and cause shut down. Break it into pieces, it doesn’t matter where you start, just start processing it in little bits and pieces.
Nonetheless, when you don’t have this information, you will shut down and go into a state or cave of depression.
You don’t deal with the problem, which could be because you’re trying to protect your children, friends, family or you feel like you would be attacking if you tried confronting the issue and you’re scared.
There are also times where you don’t know where to turn to for help, or you’re afraid of what others may think, (W.O.T.A.M.), what others think about me.
An event that is common for depression is divorce and abuse, your spouse is really liked by the community, he’s got a personality that everybody loves. They assume he’s a spectacular guy but he is the problem. He’s created lies and shared them. He’s telling other people,
“I don’t understand why she left me? I do this, and that, I’m trying everything.”
When in reality, he’s a total creep doing things that are unheard of behind locked doors, out of the sight of others. They don’t see the creep, and because of you being the loving and nurturing type of person, you shut down. You don’t know what to do, and you’re worried about what others are thinking about you.
Sitting back and doing nothing, you allow them to listen to the lies instead of you standing up for yourself. You go into a cave, a dark cave and pretend like, everything is okay putting on a fake smile.
Getting Out of the False Sense of Happy
You’re trying to make the world think you’re happy, but you know it’s artificial. The more you try to cover up the pain, the deeper depression. This depression can be severe and debilitating.
If you’re in a severe case of depression, get help. There’s no shame in talking to a therapist or getting some medication so you can cope with life.
You can get out of depression, but it’s hard. If you’re feeling depressed, you need to take action.
I can already hear you.
“Yeah, Tony, I’ve tried that. I have tried taking action.”
Taking action is the key, but it’s doing basic and simple things every day. I’ve already talked about doing a simple one, like the identity poster.
As you look at it, you’ll have negative feelings and thoughts come up trying to discount what you’re reading, keep doing it. Negative thoughts will creep in. I know they will, but that’s why you do this every day so you can gradually quiet the negative voices. Look at our identity poster every day so you can see who you are, that you are divine, phenomenal, talented, and beautiful, or whatever it is for you. Do it every day!
I’ve seen amazing women totally devastated because of their depression and events that happened in life. They have completely shut down to the point where all they do is stay in their bedroom. These women don’t want to come out of the room. They think it’s their only safe place, their own safety cave, but they are still being torn apart inside.
There’s no shame struggling with depression if you’re in this deep state of depression go get some medication to help get you started back on that right path. You have dreams and goals, let me help you be the person you want to be. The biggest key, especially when it comes to others, is exposure?
I Care About You
You’ve got to get out and get it out, you’ve got to talk about your stuff, combat the lies except for the part that’s yours, but resist the lies and say, “no, this is not true.” Let others know there’s so much more going on than they realize, but what is being said is not accurate. You don’t need to say anything more.
The more you can do this, the more you start to let some light into your cave. You may not feel like you’re ready to tackle the world yet, so don’t but begin to bring some light into your life. If you share your story and do your identity poster, the faster you will start to heal.
Holding Back Secrets
This is a gradual process, but you’ll slowly stop feeling this deeply depressed state you’re in. Your depression becomes more of an unsure feeling, and you might start to shift back into the feelings of anxiety, it’s okay. To manage stress and anxiety, you need to have information. Information brings light, so you combine the knowledge you gain to manage the anxiety along with the self-improvement even though you don’t feel like doing it.
As you start to do this, you’ll slowly begin to erase the anxiety. Slowly but surely it will wipe away, and then you’ll experience happiness, joy, excitement, and passion for life again.
When you are feeling love, joy, happiness, you can give more, you have more to offer. You can help lift and support and build other people, but it all comes to being willing to step out of that cave of depression and share what’s going on.
Again, don’t worry about what others think. I know it’s hard, especially if it’s somebody you really value their opinion of you, but it’s not about them, it’s about you.
For years I used to hold back some of my secrets because I was afraid of what others may think about me, and once I finally said, “I don’t care anymore.” I really came out into the light, and I was a lot happier. As a byproduct, I realize that a lot of things that were going on health-wise started to resolve themselves.
Coming Out of Her Cave of Depression
I’ve been working with a young lady for quite a while, and she’s gone in and out of her cave of depression. The only thing that stops her from staying in her cave is doing those things that help to let some light in, like the identity poster. The more she implements things that contribute to giving her some confidence, the more light shines.
Even a little light, just 30 seconds in the morning and night, brings in more light than you have right now. As you get more light, a transformation occurs.
No matter what your age is, your health, you can come out of your cave and be a better you, and that’s what I’m hoping to help you do.
Time for Reflection
Look at your situation right now. Are you:
- where you want to be?
- exhibiting the higher forms of vibration, love, joy, happiness?
- able to give and to share?
- the person that you want to be?
- ready to start the day, or do you roll over and say, “do I have to get out of bed?”
You Are Needed
There are people that need you to step out of your cave and realize your own potential. They need you to to be the person that you want to be. I know you don’t like staying in your bed all day long. I know you don’t like limping through life and thinking that all is going to be well when in actuality, every day you’re contemplating, why am I here? Why do I want to exist? Why do I care?
Let me say thank you. Thank you so much for holding on and still holding on, despite the pain and heartache.
I want you to realize the world needs you. The world, friends, and family need you right now. They need you more than ever. This world is full of hate, anger, resentment, depression, anxiety, stress, and overwhelm, but you can rise above it and help others while experiencing a great life.
I’ve helped a lot of women, men, and children rise up and get out of these states of depression, to find confidence, surety, belief in self and to find love, joy, and happiness. When you’re functioning at this higher level, you have so much more to give.
